This is somewhat disappointing. Now, grant it that I have not been a fan of the direction of Star Trek largely since Roddenberry’s death in 1991, but Enterprise was really getting back on track in its last season and started to feel more like the original series.

This is the first I’ve read that the next Star Trek movie will be trilogy based on the events of the Romulan War, which I think is a fantastic plotline since it’s quite the universe-changing event in Star Trek lore, but what I don’t care for is “the Romulan War in all its excessive violence that supposedly would have been too graphic for ‘Enterprise’”. Star Trek isn’t a gore series, and that, coupled with the writer being the same guy that did Band of Brothers, doesn’t instill a whole lot of confidence that they’re interested in restoring the spirit of Star Trek.

Looks like it’s iffy at best whether or not it’s going to happen anyway, so I guess we’ll just have to wait and see.
